There. I've never want a character dead than seeing them suffer. It's kind of sad how Taei's character only revolve around sex and assault. Someone out there might be enjoying this or worse, being turned on as Taei is repeatedly being involved with this. Mind you, 4 chapters, just pure ASSAULT. Gosh, I don't understand how people are just...can like Ilays character?
He literally is a psychopathic asshole so it kinda makes sense to dislike him, I dislike him a lot and his backstory is no saving grace for his actions. But he as a character is just suppose to be that way so I don’t see him as a problem, more so the storytelling. I feel like the scene couldn’t exist and that would be fine… like this scene is already telling things that we’ve already seen and heard about. We know Ilya is extremely possessive and doesn’t know how to communicate his emotions well because he is a psychopath. We already know Taei likes him regardless of all the stuff he did to him. So why try prove it again? This scene is worthless unless you’re tryna explain it to somebody with the IQ or attention span of toddler. It makes this whole situation filler and doesn’t continue any further than what the reader already knows… so it’s just repetitive and bitter. I believe that darker subjects can exist in novels, but when it’s recycled or clearly written like SA is some normal thing that doesn’t have any consequences mentally/physically it just leaves a bad taste in readers mouths unless they find SA attractive (which is a problem of its own even if it’s a cope).

Exactly! You've just written what I'm actually thinking about this manhwa the cycle of the story flow is just story progression > misunderstanding > sex/sa > repeat. The recent chapters are just really... idk but for me is so unnecessary.

When you see a character being constantly raped and facing confinement for so many chapters, but they are apparently fine and not broken. That is when it feels like the story is some kink, porn fantasy to some degree than a real story. I mean this is supposed to be a dark romance, but love is nowhere to be seen. And in the sequeles yes there are some chances in their dynamic, but as a romance in my opinion it still feels forced and deluded. Because who is to say that tay only ''likes'' ilay because of some mental issues of his own? After all that man never did or showed anything worth loving. And that brings us to a common issue with this type of stories, authors put a lot of effort into making the ML as dark as possible, but the darker the ml is, the more difficult it will be to find a way to develop a romantic bond that doesn't feel like stockholm syndrome or a mental breakdown. I am not saying it is impossible, redeeming arcs are a thing after all. But it would requiere a lot of character development, and it would require to address rape and confinement as the heavy serious topics that they are, and not some random excuse to add sex scenes. If not then a story like this is better off as a psychological thriller and not be prersented as a romance of any kind.
