It really annoys me sometimes that people assume rape fiction is only enjoyed by people who want to take the control away from someone. But actually that is not very true. Wanting to feel the loss of control is actually a very common fantasy (1/3rd of women feel that way) and about wanting to feel overwhelmed versus being the one overwhelming.
Also, it is fiction, you as a reader have the choice to continue or stop the story. That’s already the built in safety.
Obviously i dont condone people who enjoy it for the opposite reason (enjoying it as the rapist) but can we not shame the people that enjoy it for the flipside?
