I guess "self-diagnosing" (I absolutely hate this term) is only helpful because it serves as a guideline for you to actually seek professional help; and I know having access to health care isn't easy (that's what I've been living every since I was 11 lol) but honestly, as you said, you should always try your hardest to get an official diagnosis.
