I'd been wanting to see this work (manga and anime), but I really did intentionally avoid this since I knew that it includes sensitive topics of death and perhaps suicide which are too much for me. However this time, I finally took the courage and I'd say I don't regret it.
I truly enjoyed reading, and it only took me one sitting to finish the currently available chapters.
Mafuyu is such a soft, likable, and relatable character. It is very easy to symphatize with him after knowing what he went through in the past. Nevertheless, Uenoyama takes the cake for me. Well, except for the part that he unintentionally ditched Mafuyu to practice with Hiiragi. He realized it anyway. Thanks to Shizu, and he should really do something to make up to Mafuyu. He better does. Hahaha
I wanna see more development in their relationship and most importantly, I wanna see Mafuyu be more open to Uenoyama. I want him to be able to totally let go of Yuki. It's not easy, of course. But it pains me to see times like when he slept in Uenoyama's room and he saw a clock and suddenly remembered Yuki. I felt sad and bad for Uenoyama in that scene.
Haru is so pure that it makes me wonder if Akihiko deserves him. At one point, I'd say Akihiko does. He readily put in huge effort to change his lifestyle and be a man Haru deserves. It just troubles me that at some point he might (hey I said might, ok?) still be in love with Ugetsu and that he's just using Haru to move on. Indeed earlier in the story, he did really use Haru for his convenience, knowing that he liked him and even tried to attack him. I was actually glad when Haru gave up on him. Hah! but it was gone immediately after Haru let him live with him. Lmao. I just hope he really stops being a gigolo and chasing his ex.
Hiiragi somehow pissed me off. First, it was Yuki and now it's Uenoyama he's taking away from Mafuyu through music. He was not aware of this, but it was already rubbed on his face in the most recent update, so he should be more considerate of his friend.
I'm really looking forward to seeing more chapters. Reading this is an emotional roller coaster ride. It made me cry, it made laugh, and it made me wanna fall in love.
Now that I'm done with the manga, next stop is the anime and then the movie.
