The current art is beautiful but going forward with the story, with a lot of monsters and action,I feel like they need artist that is used to draw more dynamic action scenes. The art in the early chapter capture the tension/gloom that the novel have better imo. I wish at least retain the 1st chapter quality throughout the season but personally I would like them to have more stylistic art like the cover art of the novel, make it more memorable.
That... if they continue anyway, honestly with how long the novel is and how the manhwa kinda swallowed by other titles, I think they dropped it
I wonder if the writer study/work as an architect or interior designer before. The house map is very well thought
One of my big 5 manhwa title for sure. The main trio is clearly very fleshed out but even the side character have strong place in the story without feeling like they were shoehorned. They all have part in building a very rich setting. Truly the story of the people, i wish there are more proletariat centric stories like this
I feel people often did not respect bl as more than erotica, thus every other aspect aside of the main couple's romantic & sexual dynamic ended up seen as fuzzy background. This especially true with this story.
The main couple (and other side character) tell a story about justice and class struggle. Both Ian and Raymond faced injustice by their higher class counterpart. Their respective history lead them to two very different way in facing their struggle. In a pursuit of peace Ian cut himself short and withold pursuit for revenge. In a pursuit for revenge Raymond deny himself of any kind of peace. In the end any of their goal couldn't be reach unless they revolt and fight to the very class system that allow injustice imposed upon their live.
The fact that they started as dysfunctional male couple, while serve as important catalyst, is not the main theme of the story. But to some people all the complexities get simplified to "raymond manipulative asshole ian poor bby that need no man". Like, no bby, Ian and Raymond deserve each other's love. It's lowkey insulting, the writer draw complex characters and give special attention regarding the court, revolution and class divide all for it just to not be taken into account for in reading the characters motives and action.
How the f theyd be able to "communicate" about wanting to be together at this point?
They are physically, psychologically and circumstantially were not in the condition to make it clear yet. They barely could control their pheromones impulses and it's unknown medically yet. They are teen withou experiences that just starting to know each other. Everything is overwhelming and unknown to them. And it's hasn't been a week yet so chill.... everyone.
Middle life crisis hits too hard on this poor man. This is why you shouldn't listen to cheater's advice. It's not daddy's fault that communication or any kind of depth in the intimacy never happened, the sugar is too underdeveloped for any mature conversation to happen.
Sihoon is a quiter, and definitely have hard time opening up but there are clear progress in their development. Junyoung... boy.... always a boy, no wonder you're besties with mari
I don't get the sentiment on these comments. if Gyun is loveless then a lot of other seme of the same "the dominant in a power balance" type are downright robot
It's been establised from day one that they are both pining. His attitude to hyun doo have always been an exception to what he does, which is puzzling to even him. It's been established that Gyun have conviced himself he is not someone that can offer love because raised as such in such environment. Everytime hyun doo actively choose him and comunicate his desire he fell deeper. Every step of the way he learned to accomodate that and discover that he actually capable of love. Not without hitches, his learning process hurts others and himself.
It's also been established that from day 1 that hyun doo craves to be vulnerable and warmth, people'sattention is pleasing to him. He doesn't mind with transactional sex as long as it allow him to survive, with clear consent bar. He has more flavor than a good portion of "I'm not actually a bottom" and prostitution tropes. He know what he wants and communicate it, it doesn't always work but he is a fighter.
To me this couple is giving warm love through the "rough inhumane sex" trope. It's like that couple from harada's work that work they way out on one of the pair's non con fantasies. The situation enables them to be as toxic as this but despite that they have mindblowing consensual sexs and healthy communication from quite early on. The way they interact and motivation is very appealing imo, raw and realistic not in unnecessary brutal way. Small reflection on how hyun doo felt lonely and tired of struggle, gyun's possesive comments that clearly read as missidentified love and desire to be loved. Are some of the highlights on how good the writing are

It might not proceed with the teacher subplot but the whole thing kinda make me uncomfortable tbh,
There are younger teacher that approach their student in friendlier manner, I wish they show otogi(?) do this to other kids too instead of this suggestive lens
