idkkk it’s a me thing, the hs mangas/manhwas (usually 6-8 chapters) i’ve read start out so cute and fluffy then the final-ish chapter is when they have sex and there is such a big tone change that it’s obvious the author just wants to draw smut, leaves a bad taste to me :/ there are some cases where it’s done well tho!

at least in most historical fiction there’s an ounce of historical accuracy and usually the person making the fiction has an understanding of the history to know what and what not to do, this is just a blatant disregard of that history and a poor attempt at a bl story, someone else on here said this was poorly executed and i agree if the author was going for the western/southern vibe they could’ve went a similar route as Dead or Alive or a different western trope, knowing most bls had this story continued it most likely wouldn’t even regard the actual history (which is important in historical fiction) of slavery and instead be your run of the mill bl (MOST LIKELY)
