I think what a “bad person” is is subjective. I don’t think him punishing evi doers is becoming a bad person. I don’t think the author put a lot of thought into him as person or his backstory because at the end of the day, this is a rape fantasy short and that’s all that it is. Becoming a bad person == rapist. He’s not real. The author created him solely for this rape fantasy and shoved a poorly developed back story into the final chapter. Let’s stop pretending like how his “trauma” is handled in this story makes any sense.
We don’t know if he got no help cause even the grandmother he allegedly has isn’t real character and is solely a plot device to move along this rape fantasy. His doenst have a creed of “punishing evil doers”

I meant to say becoming a bad person isn’t equal to becoming a rapist, and there are ways his trauma could have manifested but it’s manifested in this way simply because the author wanted a story about a thief getting raped. The way story about his mother is hastily added seems more of an excuse and justification for his actions and I personally think rape is evil no matter the circumstances. I do not think it should ever be used to punish someone. I’m sure people will not agree with that but that’s what I think.
yeah, i actually agree with you that rape is evil regardless of the circumstances, and i’m not saying his trauma makes what he did okay. i just think you also have to understand where he’s coming from. he went through some genuinely horrific shit as a child and then the people who were supposed to help him basically failed him, so i think that’s important context for understanding his character and how he ended up becoming the way he is.
