I haven’t seen the comments being rude to the MC but from my perspective I think it’s probably because everyone is aware that;
1. killing Guwon is a bad idea and
2. MC is misremembering what happened at the beginning.
I am personally more interested in finding out what actually happened to MC at the beginning, so I don’t have any strong attachments to anyone else. I fear everyone in the town is just going to learn the hard way the consequences of killing Guwon (if they succeed)

The backstory with his mother makes no sense for them to try and make her out to be a complex character . I feel like the author made her hate Hajin and then tried to work backwards from that cause the whole “he’s the rightful heir” thing doesn’t track, they’re both her children. Even if the swap never happened, it doesn’t guarantee that Hayeon would have been chosen as the heir especially since it seems his dad already had a bias to Hajin.
The whole sub plot is so stupid and overly complicated for no reason. There’s still people who think Hajin is illegitimate because of how little sense it makes. It’s like the author was afraid of making Hajin illegitimate because it would “validate” the mother (which no. Even if Hajin wasn’t actually her child, her taking out her anger on him and trying to kill him is not valid. Especially when he hasn’t done anything to her and doesn’t even know this) and so they just decided to go with this ridiculous the first born is actually the second but the was sent away.
