The amount of SA in this is kind of horrifying but inevitable with the setting. Its so stressful but well written for the most part.
They keep track of a characters emotions quite well, and it doesn’t have any nonsensical twists, though I must say the second hand embarrassment in the early chapters was pretty strong. Once MC turned cold the story was much better.
Also glad we settled for the best ML and no weird hidden route situations.
Now I only see an ending where MC gets a hold of the ring, makes the prince’s world crumble and takes revenge, then Duke can succeed the throne bcus he’s aight in my book (like he didn’t really mean to do bad stuff, and hes trying to correct his mistakes)
And our happy couple can finally live out in peace in a country cottage happily ever after.
Also, hell no redemption for prince. Even without the charm he was a cunning, conniving, mean, promiscuous turd-face. The paralytic stuff is enough for me to kill him
I know he seems cold, but they told us how he was brutally trained and conditioned from a young age to be an emotionless tool. Thalia on the other hand was never taught how to handle herself, neither of them learned self preservation or normalcy.
They had eachother for a while as kids, and that kindling is the only reason Varkas has any humanity left, and although Thalia’s obsession was unhealthy for herself, she was clinging onto the one figure she actually ever trusted. So its pitiful and sad, as much as she is a villainess Varkas is a baddie.
At least we understand the rest of them are just as bad if not worse… except for the knight who is just a sweetie pie.
