I agree with you. But for me, it's entirely due to the art-style though. I think the author was going for a needy-puppy-like appearance, but instead he looks like a stalker/creep (not the endearing type, nor the charismatic stalker type, like the seme from killing stalking)
When I first read it, the artstyle looked a bit weird, like they took his face from when he was child and put it on a taller body it looked off but I got used to it.

It is honestly so understandable that she wanted to try and give her family another chance in her 3rd life as at the end of her second she got this letter were her brother wrote her that everyone was waiting for her. Idk it just seems plausible to me that she wanted to belong again but this makes the next live so much sadder. Poor FL i hope she gets happy in her 8th life.
