Why is the mc so stupidly kind for? She’s like pushover level kind for the level of betrayal and audacity the “villains” of this story have portrayed. I hope they don’t drag out this story with misunderstandings and this type of personality.
I kinda agree. Like I get that it's just a few chapters in, but MC should start to stand up at one point or another. I was ready for a "pushover to badass" kind of stuff especially because it's her BFF of 10 years. Like I know similar stories (some had reincarnation involved, like "Marry my husband") where the MC didn't necessarily change her whole personality but did start calculating far more. A story that I would say follows kinda a close enough writing style would be "Daytime Star" and even then the MC wasn't a total pushover that didn't care and just took it.
I was a bit heated when I wrote my comment, but the differences between other stories definitely create a stark (and irritating) contrast with the protagonist of this story.
The early plot we’ve seen so far is starting to resemble “Flowers on a Withered Branch”. For example, with the betrayal aspect, the cheating ex-partner regretting, and a “hotter” mysterious man coming in to sweep the protagonist off her feet. The parallel kind of irks me since I had to drop that manhwa because the character development was becoming drawn out and lackluster; which is why I hope this webtoon does not perform that same mistake. I would prefer my female main characters to have some type of character development after a life-altering scenario occurs. If my best friend and partner both betrayed me, I would not be taking it as passively as she would be. Especially allowing the disrespect of her ex-bsf spilling coffee on her like that and spreading rumors. When authors make irksome “villains” like this, I have a suspicion they might be trying to milk these characters to create a longer chapter-count, whereof, making the story fall flat for profit. I just hope that isn’t the case in this new story.
I don’t know how I feel about the new art style.. it kind of looks more generic and less unique when you compare the art from before the hiatus. The art style feels more flat and lazy. Like the eyes aren’t as detailed and the hair is less textured now. They even use less direct scenes of the characters faces and avoid drawing detail where possible by making the eyes crescents :(
I get that it’s been two years since the last update but rereading the webtoon and viewing the change instantaneously threw me off
Said this on a previous comment:
Pretty sure they didn’t sleep together lol, it was only implied by Jinju since she woke up at his place after drunk blacking out. One of the previous commentators said that he (Yeojun) just brought her back and he was really nervous about talking to Jisoo(the MC) about the kiss that Jinju gave him when she was drunk. They doing a LDR i think (MC and ML)
Not only the plot, but the art has been amazing. It’s consistent for characters’ facial features, even if they “glowed up”. It doesn’t include overly excessive female body standards with big-boobed, skinny waist characters in every chapter that wear skin-tight bodysuits (where you doubt if their armor even protects them) while the men only wear cloaks, hoodies, and basic armor. There’s depth and variety. Moreover, the monsters are also detailed and contain facial expressions.
