i like how he is helping the sect but not necessarily hiding it to avoid "trouble" unlike other stories that I've come across, and it's refreshing. Also I love how he is not secretive of how strong he is and that he is implementing his authority so early as to avoid others doubting his strength and trying to fight with him, I like him

I read the other one and from the way I see it I don't think they are rivals. I think they both became interested with each other until the switch then Lyon really became interested in him and wanted to know more. Lyon also was the first one to see the difference without knowing him so well. If you read the other one from Lyon's POV you will see that very much so.
