Because they really rushed through the Jirou x Aoi story line and spent more time on Ichirou and Yuuto.

yeah probably. i feel the first volume was written the way it was cause thats all there is to jirou and aoi's story. same old alpha x omega whose relationship would have worked out anyway in the end. so there was not much opportunity to showcase a lot of heavy conflict like in the case of ichirou and yuuto. or at least thats what i think...
I’ve actually read quite a couple. I believe that this one was like this too where the main couple is not really the main couple they’re just the entry. They are technically the prequel to the actual story done concurrently which I really really enjoy. This is actually one of the stories that follows this. I know another one that is as good as this, but this one is like beautifully heartbreaking. It’s like it has so many issues but at the same time it’s so good this one the other one that I know is a love so peer I believe that has the same concept where the main characters weren’t the main piece of the story purpose, but they were there more like a prequel and setup of the story itself, which I’ve genuinely like a lot of of them. I think it could’ve been, but then it would make the story very complicated to be realistic. There was no need to also make them soulmates. In my opinion. This story kind of wanted to show gays that the first couple even if they weren’t, they would’ve potentially ended up together it would’ve just took longer and it would’ve been a lot more painful. I genuinely believe that they suit each other and the relationship between the first couple feels very much so like a prince and a princess but the butler in the the princess feel more like a night and it’s princess if you get my drift, it was very nice.
