as much as i LOVELOVELOOOVEEE this story, whenever i see tia and perez interact romantically in the latest chamters i cant help but feel icky i think i wouldve been more okay with their relationship if she wasnt being weird around him when he was a literal child... bc even when he was little she was saying stuff like "i might end up falling for him" (chap 49 iirc) like ma'am that's a like a TEN YEAR OLD KID pls be serious ure a grown ass woman ure not being "seduced" by a child ure just highkey being a pedophile rn i mean she may look like a child but she's already in her THIRD lifetime i love tia and i understand that it's more of a problem within this genre as a whole (reincarnated FL who is MENTALLY AN ADULT accidentally grooms kid ML who falls in love w her and ML is portrayed as being more "mature" for his age and is the one pursuing her so suddenly that makes it okay that she's considering dating him) and not just for this webtoon, but it really almost made me stop reading so many times... and thats a shame bc their dynamic is very entertaining and cute

im only at chapter 22 and am going to continue reading to give it a proper chance but somehow i was able to clock that it was made by a man (in a negative way). the idea, setting and the main characters are all very compelling but the blatant objectification of these young girls who we are supposed to root for (also isn't it ironic that this manga wants to criticise the idol industry but treats these girls the same way) is very disturbing.... the fanservice is often put before characterisation and makes scenes fall flat.
some of their interactions together just feel phony in a way that they talk and interact like how a lowkey perverted 40yo man would think teenage girls do in this setting, it can be very unrealistic.
i may be too harsh, but i did have high expectations for this manga as a lot of people seem to have really liked it. i saw someone compare it to girl crush and got excited but it's clearly not playing in the same league, which is a bummer bc i really like ibuki and mimi's relationship and the whole build up to the selections was really good. i was excited to see such a large girl cast in such a stressful setting, and was prepared to see real criticism of this industry but like i said earlier, it feels like it was the intention but it all fell flat bc of fan service and bc the creator is a grown ass man who hasnt thought to ask girls how they would interact in a dormitory setting. im sure he did a lot of research to make this manga but it all amounts to nothing if you cant give your characters the most basic respect of preferring their personality over sexualising their bodies. (English isnt my main language and im writing this rant at 3am half asleep so sorry for the mistakes and long ass sentences lmao)
