People get persuaded into sex, manipulated into believing it wasn’t rape, while media shows these things and labels it as romance. People often aren’t sure if they were raped or not, justifying their rapists actions and never getting the help they need. These aren’t caused by media’s normalisation of it but it definitely isn’t helping. People have kinks, we can’t do anything about that, but it isn’t okay to promote it. When I was younger, due to media normalising it, I thought pedophilia and rape weren’t as big as an issue as it is, even to the point I used to fantasise about getting raped. I’ve learnt that none of that is okay, and tried to heal from that mentality. But some people might not, and it isn’t easy for kids to recognise when something’s bad when nobody has told them it’s not okay, especially with younger people’s access to internet being even wider, neither you or them can control what they might come across. Also, your argument about someone’s mother not loving them is incredibly immature, whether you are a minor or not. Someone’s family trauma isn’t an argument to be used against someone, neither is it something to laugh at. It’s insensitive, and it makes your whole argument sound ridiculous.
