He was brainwash. Every game character is brainwash by Yvon with those power of ancient leila that's why in the game every male lead love her. Fortunately Renald and the Duke manage to escape form the brainwash and still care for Penelope. Derdick in the other hand completely brainwash by Yvon. In the end of the story only Renald and the Duke that has relationship with Penelope and her child.

He is brainwashed by Yvone to ruin Penelope. There are few reason why he is an easy target to brainwashed. First he felt guilty about binging Yvone to the festival when she went missing. He lost his grip on her when the firework star and crowd are moving and the're unable to find her (latter it is shown that the Leila take Yvone immediately after she is separated form Derdick so there is no way they can do to find her) and second it is because He FRAKING FALL IN LOVE ROMANTICALLY WITH PENELOPE!!. When all of the main conflict ended Penelope go back to the dukedom to say final goodbye and Derdick who has been stab by Yvone has the balls to confes (or tried I forgot) and told Penelope to stay for him (Yeah right evermore reason to go). In the end Penelope reject him badassly and satisfyingly. He never really in Penelope life let alone her child. If I'm not wrong Reinald is the one that success the family (I read novel MTL so it's not really accurate). He is a stranger to Penelope and her newfound family.

So actually, the one that kill the dad is Dokja by stabbing him with a knife. He did it to protect his mom that is getting beaten up by his dad. His mom make it seems like she was the one that kill the douch bag to protect Dokja mentally and physically. Because the trauma is so big Dokja memories of that day is very vague and distorted. There is 1 main reason she wrote the book, it's to make sure that people sees her as the murderer and erase all the possibility of anyone finding the truth that Dokja is actually the one who did it. But surprisingly the book became best seller and she gather a lot of money. While she was in prison, she entrusted Dokja to a relative and give them a lot of money for his living expense with the hope that it can ease his pain and suffering, unfortunately the greedy relative took all the money and never give it to Dokja so he suffer a lot by having no family nor money.
So yeah very complicated relationship, they somehow came to understanding but never fully recover their relationship.

Yeah reading too many novels/stories made you capable of predicting many plot twist! I don't know if it already depict in the manhwa but one thing that make Dokja really hate his mother is because she never talk to him. He use to visit her when he was young and she said noting so he just talked about the novel the entire visit. While i dont remember the reason why she never talked, but i guess she's not saying anything to prevent her from reavealing the truth or show herself falling apart in front of his son. I truly pity Dokja's mother because she's doing everything that right to protect his son but make his live miserable instead.
If I remember it correctly, the meaning of Tia and empress conversation is since Tia have no mother and her father seems to have no interest in searching for a fiancee for her, the empress as mother of a nation (woman with the highest position in the empire) offer to help her find a partner. Since Tia is the most loved lombardi grandchildren, with a loaded father and incredible connection to pellet merchant, the empress show indication that she want to partner Tia with her son the first prince. Which literally make tia want to barf LOL. She was looking around at first to make sure there is no adult lombardi there that can interrupt her and wan to pressure Tia to accept that's why she ask her in public with so many eyes around (she think Tia is a pushover that she can't get away from her offer). I understand your impatience with this great story that is Skip Beat. But if you pay attention to the chapter releases you'll see author didn't take vacation for more than a year or two. She deserves her holidays. Let's hope she gets all the rest she needs to produce more pages for the next couple of chapters.
And we can read it again from the beginning to refresh our memories. I enjoy this so much, i'm fine with any plot author-san put forward. I am more afraid of an indefinite hiatus than vacations (￣∇￣")

I don’t know it’s because the chapter updated frequently but i love that this manga quickly solve the misunderstandings and have a good communication (well except their feeling for each other). Can’t wait to see the progress of their relationship and family matter
One of the best manhwa i’ve read recently. Though the story is common and cliche I love the way it is pesented. The arts is beautiful and it became more artsy later on.
I don't think the story is cliche or common any way whatsoever. Only thing that's "common" would be the fact that MC reincarnated and is adventuring, but I haven't seen any other stories even remotely similar to this
Well in my opinion this story is similar to “The beginning after the end” with some differences here The way teh MC remember their past life since he was born, enter the academy and becoming all rouder, and how op he is in all aspects. The premise also pretty similar with aura, magic, elfs and stuff. So yeah I stand to my opinion about the story being “cliche” and “common”. But it doesn’t mean that the story is bad. It’s got its own uniqueness and still exiting nonetheless.
