Does anybody have any recs of yaoi that are safe, sane AND consensual?
A playlist would be amazing too
Okay so that’s literally every single yaoi in my reading/read so just go to my profile lol. I’ll list the ones that aren’t safe, sane, and/or consensual + the ones that aren’t very good (imo) instead
Oh and for context, about 60 of the yaoi in my reading and read list are safe, sane, and consensual so this is just easier for me.
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/a_blessed_night/ I feel like it’s a little unfair to judge this one when it only has one chapter, but I can just SMELL the toxicity from here. The premise is that mc had gay sex with one of his childhood friends from church (who are allegedly homophobic) and doesn’t remember which one. If this doesn’t scream “red flag”, then I don’t know what does.
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/winsome_oranda/ This one ALSO has too few chapters to judge it, and it doesn’t appear to be toxic whatsoever, but I don’t really think this story’ll be good. I don’t it’s just something about it that gives off that vibe. I could be wrong though.
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/resurrection_merit/uu/br_chapter-364636/pg-1/ Okay I’m being PRETTY harsh on this story, but there’s no way in hell it’s going to be good. It’s definitely not toxic, but the miscommunication tropes slap you in the face. It COULD be good, but I doubt it.
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/a_gloomy_delusion/ UNFORTUNATELY and I mean REALLY UNFORTUNATELY, I cannot say with good faith that this story is a “sane” yaoi. It’s a really good story, but definitely on the angsty side. The mc lowkey needs therapy (and has a drinking problem). Somehow he’s worse mentally than the mafia boss (I think? I’m pretty sure he’s a mafia boss) ml
https://www.mangago.me/read-manga/step_on_me_my_prince/ Not toxic, but it’s lowkey not good at all. Like… they did the boomshakalaka outside. In a park. On a field trip. Where there were children (no one saw obv but wtf). I’m really close to dropping this story too

First I thought it seemed unrealistic
Like, why tf are they expecting a child to answer perfectly to a question regarding a company scandal?
He's a kid, he isn't supposed to even know how to answer that
But then I remembered this is asian culture, specifically korean media culture is wildly different from western
They are relentless when they want to turn the public and the public in itself also has so many weird takes
I wouldn't doubt they would bully and hate a kid
Looking back, they were probably expecting Gongja to apologize and bow his head in the name of his family's scandal
I'm pretty sure that's how they would coach a kid to answer
