im glad rein and valeta got their happy ending, but im left kinda upset because of eliza, largris, and desilian. they all had such tragic lives and then eventually equally as upsetting deaths, especially desilian. he was so broken from all the experimenting done to him and still died miserably:( he probably never even knew his parents were still alive and loved him deeply. my poor baby ugh

man if you asked me to summarize the plot id have no idea what to say. i feel like literally nothing happened, then any random problems that were introduced had no resolution? they kinda just became a non issue and were forgotten.
like first the imprint was bad, but it would probably be fine if they didn’t touch too much, but actually nevermind they can keep touching. dowon literally ended up in the hospital multiple times and the drs stressed no touching, but they ignored it and it was fine. then side effects from the meds were having lasting effects, but once kwonwoo found out about it and they cried a bit, it was not an issue anymore? i couldn’t bring myself to care when new situations occurred because they’d both have a breakdown and then there were 0 consequences or need for a real solution.
i can’t even say it was a character driven story because the characters had almost 0 identity outside of guide and esper. even the whole esper thing wasn’t significant outside of kwonwoo losing control repeatedly. espers do so much training and have a whole world built to cater to them and the guides, but it never felt like there was any sort of threat they were preparing for. they were supposedly super important and saving the world, but it really felt like they were fucking around the whole time and the monsters were a convenient excuse when something dramatic was needed.
anyways, it wasnt really an awful read, it just had incredibly poor world building and no sense of direction for the plot. nothing really happened. nothing bad felt dire. they were all kinda just there.
