It’s a story about the fragility and futility of human life vs the strength of the human will and of hope. Shit is supposed to be B L E A K. The feeling of hopelessness was so dense in the novel shit was good. The whole message of this story is “do not go gentle into that good night.” And Nietzsche’s quote “when you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back” supposed to represent lu feng, who in the process of fighting monsters is becoming a monster himself. But as much as I LOVE the manhwa and am grateful for its existence it is SPEEDING past the story. Probs why every character get introduced dies so quick. I swear they existed longer in the novel before dying.
