- he’s gonna make her his mistress after her uncle winds up in jail or something and he uses that as leverage to sleep with her, she gets pregnant and flees with her uncle, her uncle dies, and basically it’s a shit show and also he makes sure she doesn’t get to pursue her dream career so she ends up staying with her (this genuinely pissed me off) he’s an all around jerk, and honestly when they sleep together shit doesn’t seem consensual. okay so she runs away w her uncle and basically mathias loses his mind he’s like “omg where my bitch at” and since he’s loco he volunteers for the army and his engagement to the other girl is put on hold.

so the place where blondie is staying is literally the war zone (great place to give birth lmao) and uncle bill literally gets merked by a bomb, so now he dead rip feminist king.

Kyle is so persistent about marry Leyla and won’t give up proposing daily. Leyla finally agreed to marry him(read the novel to understand why). They agreed to go to college together and marry after. Leyla has her college funds stored in their home and one day it goes missing. Problem is, Kyle’s mom is not too fond of Leyla. She absolutely detests Leyla. Kyle’s mom is a social climber, she wants friends in higher places and Leyla is a peasant. Her marriage into the family won’t generate any status and may bring shame to the family. Kyle’s mom doesn’t want that. She linked up with her broke ass brother(?) and encouraged him to steal Leyla’s college funds. He did and Matthias seen him on his property but Matthias lied and said he didn’t see the thief when questioned by the police. He also know Kyle’s mom is involved . Matthias has his own agenda and he doesn’t want Leyla and Kyle getting married. He wants Leyla for himself. Claudine is also noticing and confirming that Matthias has a thing for Leyla. She’s aware that Matthias lied about not seeing the thief. Kyle’s mom confessed her detesting of Leyla(the bitch got ball lol) so Leyla decided to cut off the engagement. I don’t blame Leyla, I don’t want a mother N law like her either. All this drama is occurring and Matthias is scheming how to get Leyla as his mistress and in his bed

Omg! What the hell is happening, why do the author want leila so suffer this much and no one is stopping him ?! Σ(っ°Д °;)っ

I enjoyed the novel as well, but a reader of plenty of classics and let's just say it in simpler terms, a dedicated bookworm, it's definitely not on par with novels that are characterized literature masterpieces (art). The metaphors and 'symbolism' were in my opinion, mediocre and certainly not something i haven't seen in plenty of other novels before. The storytelling was definitely good, including the dramatic undertones(my favorite parts). But no, I wouldn't consider that this novel has as a requirement to be enjoyed, the ability to 'comprehend notions at a mature level'. If anything, it simply requires you to have a preference and tolerance to morally ambiguous characters, which once again is connected to personal limits and preferences. I can see why certain people wouldn't be able to tolerate it and why some would.
Having a preference for it, wouldn't prove you were able to understand the 'hidden' metaphors or comprehend the 'meaning' better than those who don't have a preference for it, this take would be very condescending and the result of a truly dichotomous, close minded point of view (just to be clear, I'm not saying this for you, I'm speaking in general terms). Someone can take into account every detail, every literary abstraction, including symbolisms and 'feelings' but still simply, dislike it. Taste is simply taste, and as i see it, no taste is superior to another. That's all, sorry for the rant!
