Except for when he helps his friend ito to discover her himself but that’s the only time i can think of him doing something truly selfless. But honestly it’s ok that the mc is so u likable tbh the rape scene almost made me stop reading and I get if anyone did at that point but I don’t believe the author is condoning it I think it’s just to show the reader how narcissistic mc is that he truly believes he helped her. And it’s a theme throughout that he’s not really helping anyone he’s trying to help himself. He sees himself in everyone he “helps” even Ito during their little therapy session . Because the homunculi are a reflection of himself. I’m honestly wondering if they were there to begin with or if mc was just hallucinating . Nanaimo could supposedly see people’s hearts as well but maybe not the same as his illusions . Another scene that really got me was when he asks Nanako to see him and all she sees is a demon. I’m kind of disappointed she believes in his power after what he does to the yakuza boss. I’m assuming she lost her life after the trepanation. I feel like the cops weren’t arresting him for just doing it on nanako I feel like he’s so desperate to be seen that he probably did it to others. He was willing to do it to ito the second he got in the car. Also I find it really tragic that ito did set him on this path. I don’t know where mc would’ve ended up had he not gone through with the surgery but Def not the ending he got: mc was better off without his “superpower “ ito probably feels so guilty for setting mc on this path to madness and potentially being the cause of death for so many others. That’s just my headcannon tho. Honestly this was a 9.9/10 imo

You know what? I said the same thing. I reread this a few days ago and realized there were some things I had forgotten about bc, like you said, the Author opens so many different avenues, however nothing is getting resolved.
It's all interesting and I'm not one to believe that everything is gonna get resolved with a snap of a finger, but at the same time, it's like as soon as they climb one mountain, before they are able to climb over it and down, there's another mountain stacked on top of THAT mountain and so on, so on.
So many doors are opened, so many things are piling up. Instead of paying attention to the SL, I'm more invested on how everything is gonna get resolved.
Also, what's up with the King and the General both in Comas? I know something is up with that and I feel like someone is behind it (and I even have a cliche theory behind it), but nobody is even thinking about it or trying to get information, knowing the longer they stay like that, then the more their bodies wither away and they die.
Yeah Fr the king being sick has been going on for a while and no acknowledgment . I like the smut but I feel it gets in the way at times because once every 5 chapters or so there’s new smut. Which is nice but I also like the world and the story . it’s honestly impressive that the author of a Bl genuinely has me more invested in the story and plot than the smut.

Lmaooo I feel the same way! Personally, I think it has a lot to do with there being so much going on all at one time. So many questions, but the answers haven't come yet. Which.....is fine. Nothing can be resolved after one chapter. Though, at this point? Meh, there are more questions than answers.
