I began reading this believing I’d never seen it before but as I went along I remembered dropping it years ago. But I couldn’t remember why. Until chapter 10.
The perv storyline truly is an unnecessary subplot! Because what even is the poiiiiint!? If that character is meant to fit the role of the third in a love triangle, that’s not what it feels or looks like. Before chapter 10 there is ONE scene of all of them together, ONE scene of ML being jealous and mildly possessive and that’s it. Everything else from there is the perv taking advantage of cutie patootie (I’ve already forgotten all their names and no I don’t want to remember them). I’m here to read about a monogamous love story! But NO, the author wanted to take a detour and explore a USELESS and frankly uncomfortable storyline! I skimmed and scrolled those chapters thinking, “nahhh pervy isn’t gonna go there. Plot armor should kick in any moment now and ML will be there soon to save cutie patootie…. wow it’s still going… wow, it’s not stopping…. WHY ISNT IT STOPPING?”. Bro’s not even the main character! Why does he have more screen time than the supposed ML?!?! I could say so much more but truly not worth my time. Ugh, sucks bc the art is so pretty. Hate when good art serves to tell a TERRIBLE story.
The in-depth torture porn was actually so unnecessary. Because thats what this was: TORTURE-PORN. The mc goes through absolute HELL, and the natural next step is to swing the pendulum the opposite way and make the mc win and get his lick back. I can tell the intention was there but it didn’t land. By the end of the story I dont feel like Geom got any sort of justice. Bc how can you give a character justice when MOST chapters are Geom being graped.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if the panels containing non consensual sex outnumbered the short moments Geom and Wooyeon had together. Why did the author not have the OBVIOUS insight to perceive that readers would feel uncomfortable reading back to back to back r*pe. And it only pissed me off more when those scenes were romanticized: the chapters with nothing but grape with little to no text bubbles that offered no contribution to the plot. Putting Geom in a veil?? Lingerie?? Ribbons? Mask?? Corset? That metal cage thing?? Now what was the point of that?? Truly? I had to skim so much of it!! And put my phone down to cry and remind myself this is a story, this isn’t real. That’s the only compliment I can give the author, is that they know how to make you FEEL for the characters. But fuck the author for thinking, planning, plotting, drawing, and releasing chapters and chapters of romanticized r*pe to the world.
I’m glad geom got his HEA but when the story is 70% pain it’s not hard for my overall impression of this story to be anything but pleasant

Never expected to see a Rosalía cameo. That was such a gag! I love that songggg
