Sherina will find dantalian in an event as he will be representing the duke from the north. I think he proposed to asmodeus that he wants to marry sherina/hella, but to do this, he needs power on par with the crown. Asmodeus agreed that dantalian will be his heir but he needed to marry sherina so all his assets will actually go to his daughter if they marry hahahah.
They will be in some kind of adventure in a forest where they will learn what happened to asmodeus wife and daughter (hella), and this is also where sherina will learn that asmodeus is hos daughter but she won't go with him in the north. Years will go on and dantalian told sherina that asmodeus is dying (black magic is taking a toll on his body, since he absorbed sherina's black magic on the silopia's or the forest adv arc), they will bond or something but asmodeus will downplay his health saying that he still have few years but only have few months as to not sadden sherina.

Who's the assassin?
It was chanton. The empress was questioning his loyalty to her so she ordered him to assassinate the prince. But we know that chanton and perez is secretly an alliance iand is actually plotting for the empress's demise so perez knew about it. But I think he will reprimand chanton about this incident cuz tia got hurt as well despite him being on the verge of dying (￣з￣)

If you really think about it, everything that the brother is saying is completely logical and right since ML never showed any interest to MC or expressed it outright in front of MC. If he just say what he wants to mc, any miscommunication could be avoided. But even after knowing mc is an airhead, he still wants him to take a hint.
