I’d say novel and donghua are best (donghua will have some censorship though) there’s even a live action called “The Untamed” (also censorship) which apparently is also pretty popular/good though I haven’t watched

The novel is the best since the other versions obviously have less detail but if you dont wanna read something long I would say just read the manhua or watch the c drama or donhua.
Watching the c drama when it first came out is how I got into it and afterwards read the novel. I also Recomend watching the Q version which is a chibi version after you finish reading it. And if you read fanfics I also urge you to read the fanfucs since you can really understand the romance and plot on a deeper level.
