I can't help but feeling iffy if, and seems like it will happen, that their relationship is moving from platonic to romantic. I reallyyyyyy don't mind age gap romance at all, but seems like satomi is barely a young adult and kyouji being most probably 20+ years older than him, and to make it crazier, they met when satomi is in MIDDLE SCHOOL! I think it shows the difference in their thought process and all, and I think it would be PERFECT if the author just keeps their relationship one sided ONLY (satomi liking kyouji) and just leave it there. Ig I'm the minority cuz many people seem to dig their relationship despite its problems. And i know people will usually say "if you don't like it, don't read it," BUT, the problem with this manga is different, the difference in authority and power is jarring compared to other toxic yaoi couples out there. (kyouji and satomi isn't toxic per se, but romantic connotations is kinda sus methinks?)
Anyway, sorry for the long rant. I actually watched the anime first before continuing Famiresu and I was jolly in thinking their relationship remained platonic, but tiktok edits said otherwise and that's what compelled me to finish this. Needless to say, I believe there are many nuances and I wish to know your guys' thoughts on this.
I think thats kind of like the point of their relationship and why it's also a tragic one. It explores why kyouji should've been more strict with the boundaries and he knows it in the last couple of chaps realizing satomi's attachment to him, thats why hes way more distant. Just because it's an uncomfortable relationship does not mean u cannot delve deep into the psychology of it.
