The rating will not always be the real face of its good and bad, it's different for every person. But for real, although I know this illegl site is using bot to stole from other sites and lots of toxic people often annoys me, but the topic and mail column are absolutely the best fitures for me. If I want to read some stories even if the rating is high (>8.5), I usually check the topic column and read how most readers' opinion. And it usually works! I never get disappointed when I found a story with full of compliments from readers even though the story may have few readers. And I was like getting a mail full of recommendations and I just... couldn't thanked them enough.
And I just love mangagosians because in my opinion, mangagosians, especially veterans are really helping me by sparing their time to type what kind of stories they read on topic column. If it's good, they wrote the good things. If it's bad, they really explained the bad things.

This exactly what I do too! Especially when I find new things to read and Im a bit skeptical about reading it. I just go scroll down the comments and topics. I also drop a comment myself and ask if it's worth reading and most of them are blunt with their description and tell you about points in the story that might discourage you from reading. Very helpful!
Yup, the community is what makes Mangago so fun. The fact that you can ask a manga you forgot or ask for recommendations and someone will answer you in just a matter of hours. I assume this is because Mangago is heavily leaning on BL/GL readership so most audiences will have similar tastes so it's very easy asking for opinions. You don't often get such dedicated audience in other aggregator sites
The thing is I hate when people will express dislike to a series, for example, because there is age gap. Then people will go like "ew gross!!" "ew is that grooming" "im dropping this so disgusting" etc. Then the topics will full of these comments and it might cause other people to read it when other people might find it okay to read certain tropes and genres. I'm all for freedom of expression as long as you don't shame people for what they read.
That is true. Sometimes if the story is worth to defend, I tried to explain carefully the good things, hopefully there's someone out there was helped by my words, lol. It's just, while I knew this site is illegl, I just couldn't help but to find this site is more addicting that the legals because of these fitures.

Do not upload for fun. If you feel like you wanted to help cause the previous uploader is being inactive for more than a month, then do it wholeheartedly. Clean the raw to at least make it readable, use google translate is okay but be creative and make it more makes sense, crop the chapter clean or at least not annoying to look at. Heyo, we're here for free, but so do the translation teams and they're still helping us to understand the story.... not just to put a name.
For anyone who has idea to update chapters or new story, even if you're not a pro, do it right please. I know I'm not in the position to say this, but instead of wasting your time translating with half-ass effort, do it wholeheartedly. Name the page correctly, crop the picture nicely done, translating with app is okay but make it unquestionable and not just put everything what the app said, don't use picsart cause the resolution is worst ever, choose the right font. Aaaahhh please do it right, I'm not a pro either, but I'm a reader, and I want to make everyone who reads my translation satisfied too... please.
But most of translator team is not getting paid too tho? If you want to do something, don't make excuse such as "I'm a newbie". If you decided to translate, then do it right, learn, even if it means that you only capable to translate 1 chapter in 2 weeks with a good quality, then do so please. Be honest, you'd prefer a clean tranlation too right, easy to read, nice to see. If you have difficulties, ask help in topic column, I'm not saying that everyone will hepl out, we are lazy and stingy people after all that's looking for a free manga, but I'll say at least there will be 1 or 2 people to help. The readers are not blind tho? We can see which translator that cut the images carefully or not, that choose the good font or not. Once you decide to help, do it wholeheartedly, not just some "help". It's okay, I'm harsh too, and I can understand most of you feel offended by this, but at least one of you will mark my words, thanks.
Oh and I'm sorrry too if you guys feel that offended, but what I said is true tho, we are readers too afterall, we feel grateful for your kindness to update, but kindness alone is not enough....
