So I stopped reading a while ago because there doesn’t seem to be a final conclusion for our protagonist- Is he even STILL the protagonist of this story? I keep seeing random characters and the latest chapters don’t show the protagonist anymore. Could someone please tell me what’s going on anymore?

For those who are wondering why Ayano Yamane is receiving backlash after she was announced to draw a manga depiction for 2ha, it is because she has a history of extreme anti-Chinese and anti-Korean views. You can look it up on Twitter and there is a thread of her old tweets dating back to 2010. There was also a screenshot of an old tweet where she joked about how a 453kg bomb could sink a China warship. When Chinese and Korean 2ha fans found out about it, obviously there is a huge backlash. Imma be fr. It is pretty insane to express extreme anti-Chinese views, especially as a Japanese, and still wish to adapt a Chinese novel after all that.
Ig people so anything for money or maybe her views changed. I read that she apoligised in her twitter acc saying something similar to she was young and immature. Anyhow people are saying it was a typical ‘apology’ celebrities/artists use that are media appropriate. The posts ARE old and people change but it is still kinda disheartining to hear that. I hope they find a new artist and continue with the adaptation

Agreeee, I hope they find another mangaka as a replacement soon if they wish to continue the adaptation. Though I have no interest because I already read the novels but I will still be happy to have more content.
As for Ayano, I personally don’t think her views changed because tho her oldest comment was in 2010, she continued making such comments in the following years. Latest I saw was in 2023, which was only 3 years ago. I feel that as a popular BL mangaka, she had loads of time to apologise. I also don’t think she worked with any CN or KR authors so 2ha is definitely her first time. Unfortunately for her, fans WILL do background checks and she was already outed a day after her announcement
