yall r so focused on julie and sigurd but I see no one talking ab the bestiality r*pe love this manga so much, its so cunty but that was a bit much for me, even if she is the villainess of the story
they are technically estranged, juliette spent most of her life in the temple or something. even her original dad wasn't close to her.
and they're nobles, so it would make sense for them to use brother/sister to refer to each other, versus lord/lady which makes it sound there's some dirty laundry in their family
(iirc they don't know they're not related yet at this point?)
I can maybe explain this one. Primarily 2 reasons: In Japanese, you rarely ever change the title you call someone by, except under really notable circumstances, so if they marry, then they'll likely change it. Even some married couples still call each other by last names because they're used to it. Secondly, it's not really strange to call someone bro/sis even if they're strangers, it's just the way jp pronouns work, so it's either author's choice or translator's choice, it doesn't really mean to imply kinship necessarily. But I can understand why that would be read differently in English.
id argue beastmen dont count as bestiality, bc there beastMEN, theyre capable of giving consent, understanding the social constructs behind consent and human intercourse, unlike regular animals. and bc theyre beastMEN, they have some semblance of humanity to them, so theyre more than just intelligent beats, theyre human too, even if partially- but thats just my opinion
