Is it worth reading? What is the main storyline?
It's worth it! I really love this story.
Dungeons appear in the world, and those who "awaken" powers in moments of great danger become "hunters" and get ranked abilities & special classes that align with their personalities/interests.
Our main guy is ranked low and becomes a real lout, trying to prove himself to his only family, his S-Rank brother, who eventually cuts him completely out of his life.
Zoom forward a few years, and he almost dies in a dungeon, still trying to succeed and prove himself as an F-Rank hunter, when he is saved... but wishes he wasn't.
He gets the opportunity to regress to when the dungeons first appeared and tries to live this life with his best foot forward and tries properly using his ability, the "Perfect Caretaker," where he is able to secretly identify, hand-pick, and max out his fellow hunters' abilities - plus a rather morbid ability, which is what got him by in his first life.
The character- & world-building is awesome, plus we get to see cute dungeon animal-monsters.
The playful comedy is also a lot of fun :)

Is there an actual over-arching plot coming soon? Or is it more slice-of-life with no real direction in the story?
Mostly slice of life but does seem to have a bigger story in the background as some of the early cases are actually connected and an entity seems to source of some of the incidents with of course a nefarious plot in mind
there is a bit of an overarching plot, which is from one big baddie who is related/connected in some way to seonal. but i stopped reading the novel so idk how big it's going to be
