You can feel bad for thr both of them. Two things can exist at the same time.
People feel bad for Baeksa 'cause he didn't have a choice in the body he could inhabit and didn't know that by possessing Yehwa he would be cursed to endure all the painful memories he had to live through and is also dealing with the physical backlash of it. Baeksa is living and feeling everything that was done to Yehwa before he died.
People also feel bad for Yehwa for being treated so inhumanely to the point he wanted to die. By the time Baeksa found him as a vessel he no longer had any will to live.
There are so many comments about how everyone wishes Baeksa would kill Yehwa's abusers or how bad they feel each time we learn how badly he was treated. No one is right or wrong for wanting either of them to have peace.

I don't think people are confused about who is currently being assaulted. Baeksa *is* having to relive and experience Yehwa's trauma and abuse tho so he practically is being assaulted. His body, mind and soul-- no matter how much he tries to convince it that it isn't him-- cannot tell that what he is experiencing is just a "dream."
It's why Muyeon just tied him up. He cannot physically control himself while going through these fits. He even mistakenly killed Muyeon once while under the influence of Yehwa's memories.
Just 'cause he wasn't actually there for the events to happen, he's basically having to relive them while in Yehwa's body.
So yeah, people can still feel sorry for Baeksa in this situation.
Yeah basically he's also going through the SA even though he is just reliving the stepfather's memories he is very much reliving them as if it was happening to him and there's not much anyone can do. These memories aren't just like dreams they seem to be very real to him probably because of the merging thing he mentioned in the beginning. So if the two do merge to become one then the stepfather's trauma/memories are pretty much his now which is sad cause those aren't the type of things you'd want someone to go through.
Yeah, which is why people are rightfully feeling bad for Baeksa in this situation.
It just irked me 'cause we already feel bad for Yehwa. We, the readers, are actively aware that this is what caused Yehwa to give up on life. It's not that we feel more for Baeksa, it's just that we are now witnessing Baeksa being forcefully injected into these memories and reliving them.

jaehyuk explained that meeting with yeonho as boyfriends was safer than just directing going near yeonho’s father which worked with jae’s grandpa so that would immediately be suspicious (which is a crock of shit, i think jae just wanted to get laid but i digress). later on yeonho expressed his feelings toward jae before he was told that about the usb so jae was only being affectionate toward yeonho because he needed that usb from him and that’s why he later said “there’s no reason for me to be unkind to someone that has something i need” (not the exact quote but you get the point lol). then i think it became quite apparent that jaehyuk truly had feelings for yeonho when he found him at the club in that state but since they’re relationship was so messed up and jae already had the usb back, jae had no reason to want to continue the relationship with yeon-oh, especially since yeonho was kind of over fighting for his affection. now with the whole thing about them apparently knowing each other when they were younger, i simply can’t make any sense out of it
