Haven’t read the first chapter yet obviously. Can someone explain how this is racist before I decide to read or not? I keep seeing master/slave and white savior comments but how? Like does the MC say something racist or demeaning? Is the story itself about racism as a whole is there something inherently racist in and of itself about the story? Again, haven’t read it and didn’t even read the summary. I know nothing of the story. Like it only has 1 chapter and everyone is claiming how awful this is so I’m just wondering why you guys feel that way and if I even wanna take the time to read it. Idk
The Mc fought in the civil war on the union army, came back to his whole family dead, decided to sell his families ranch where slaves worked on it, "freed" the slaves, and it ends on a cliffhanger with a man riding up on his horse to him saying that that's his ranch and telling the mc that he is his slave and calling the Mc master.
anything's possible, so maybe this creator will turn out to have done their research and not be insensitive or ignorant, but I'm already skeptical due to the choice of character backgrounds. like of all the kinds of people and stories you could tell about this time period in this place, why are these the ones chosen? what's the appeal of their dynamic? why choose this setting and time period for that? if the creator hasn't done their due diligence, those questions will have very unflattering answers.
as it stands, it looks like a very deliberate choice to write around the existence of Black people who lived during that time even though their presence is integral to the livelihoods of the MCs. maybe the author thought they'd avoid the backlash they're now getting by doing that, but that's still an expression of racism, by ignoring that Black people are also people who want their stories and experiences told and treated with respect. and if the author didn't want to include Black people, which they're ultimately not obligated to do, they would have been better off choosing another topic and setting to write about, because like it or not, when writing about American history, you'll have to grapple with the racial dynamics of this country one way or another, to say nothing of the civil war era (even postwar) where the crux of the conflict was "what are we going to do with Black people (are they even people?)". to then make the only Black people in the story be faceless mobs seemingly only with the intention of making the white MC look good and ethical, just rubs salt in that wound. if the author wanted an interracial cowboy romance with this particular dynamic, they had other options for time and setting (and not to mention that those power and racial dynamics are present in other times as well).
every choice a creator makes in their story reflects their knowledge and interests, which are not free from bias. intentional or not, I see a lot of opportunity for missteps here.

I’m reading the novel now, currently on chapter 94. I’m really not a fan of Grayson. So far in the story I just don’t see any real redeeming qualities.
Also, a question about the story in general, how does Grayson figure out who’s his “destiny” and who isn’t? Like, all his hookups prior he knew right away, correct? What is his thought process behind knowing that they weren’t “the one”? Like am I missing something? Is there such thing as a “faited pair” in this universe that I don’t know of?
I hardly read kiss me liar (hated the manhwa) and I only read the novel for kiss me if you can. I feel like I’m just not getting it.
Lol for me though by chapter 60 I had already forgave Grayson and he was my fav character I just dwelled and stood in Grayson shoes most of the time so I was able to empathize and sympathize with Grayson a lot which made me realise he is such a good well written and complex character. Ik it's not everyone's tea but do try to dwell more on Grayson psychology u might actually like him .
The fated love is mostly based on that they both will love eo like madly like Keith x Yeonwoo, Ashley x Koi, Chase x Joshua, Cassian x Bliss, Nathaniel x Chrissy (Chrissy is a Beta so no Alpha x Omega Fated pair) but u get the gist Grayson has seen all of them get married and settled down with their fated love but he is Left alone and he has no one is what the plot drives. It's more of a person oriented who is perfect for that person. And as for Grayson the dominant Omega Pheremones made him feel yes that's for me type of thing it's very hard to understand but yeah
What chap is this in the novel?

I think somewhere around vol 2, ch 11, but not entirely sure ...
At this point I can’t really be all that mad about Ari. She is so heavily manipulated by Mincheol, it’s sickening. And she is so naive and male-centered that she just takes his word and runs with it. I seriously feel somewhat bad for her. But not fully. Cause she is also responsible for blindly following a man around and putting him on some pedestal. She’s also creating her own downfall. She makes her own horrible assumptions along with Mincheol’s manipulation. Girl can’t even think for herself.
On another note I’m so happy to see Haesoo just completely over Mincheol. Mincheol is so obsessed with Haesoo, but Haesoo is just graciously moving on with her life. She’s truly starting over and trying to be happy. Its comforting
This chapter is obviously foreshadowing some type of drama between Taeha, this new girl, and Haesoo. I know Haesoo will immediately misunderstand, which is going to be hard to stomach cause I feel so deeply for her. But I’m holding out hope that Taeha makes it ABUNDANTLY clear that he has no feelings for this new girl and his heart only belongs to Haesoo.
Also, this hostess bar (?) I actually feel is a little unnecessary to the story. Or maybe it’s not, it’s too early to tell. But then again the new girl being introduced is also slightly unnecessary. I wish the author would bring back Mincheol. I’m starting to wonder if Haesoo will run into Mincheol at this bar…

I read it and yeah, they did have twins.
My only questions...is the twin kids normal? At least does the pair raise their kid normally? Like sorry for asking this but their supposed daddy is crazy
Yo how far from the ending is the manhwa currently?
Father who Became Public Property
For the most part they raise the twins normally. Sangwoo is still crazy though
