A few weeks of school is still enough time. Finish the assignments as soon as you can, honestly I would worry more about just getting them done first rather than having them be perfect first. Well, at least you see that there are people that have the same or similar preferences as you, 'cause for me the most awkward part when it comes to strangers could be, "Do they like the same stuff I like, or will we have nothing in common to talk about...?"
