But this story is actually pretty good considering how short it is. It wasn’t boring, or unpolished like some of you says, you just need to dig a little deeper to understand. Hyeon, kust like some of us has trauma to deal with, all his life he was taught that he’s the one to murdered his mother causing his mental health to deteriorate. His trauma was manifested through his nightmares in the form of his mother, the guilt he felt made it worse. Dr. Baek did all what he did as a form of “treating” his patient, the process was problematic and toxic and every way possible though, yet again this is fiction. They used sex and orgies as a form of Hyeon’s treatment to get the truth out of his system and made him realize that its not his fault his mom died, thatbhis father is a murderer. This isn’t a love story, it’s a story how Hyeon is fighting what seems to be a never ending battle to forgive himself and find peace. It’s underrated, it’s good. I hope people will see that, the author did a great job!!!
Yah but using sex in yaoi stories as main key for every solution is getting kinda boring.

-heavy genre. Don’t read hentai and complain about the fact that the plot is driven by sex. That’s literally the point. Read shounen ai for better plots. Some very good stories without relationships built on sex are Lost in the Cloud, My Starry Sky, Minority, Truth or Dare, and Edge of Ambiguity.

I said what it was and how it was which isn't wrong either. And yes yaois will always have sex and sex but there are better ways to show sex in yaois like for example SADISTIC BEAUTY SIDE STORY, it has alot of sex but the plot isn't build on sex it has plot of its on and that's what I meant.

It’s fine. That’s your opinion anyway!! For me it’s just that I appreciate the psychological aspect of the story, although it isn’t ethically or morally right in any way. The overall takeaway was, we all have our demons and sometime it’s being taken advantage of.

I know sex isn't the solution but A LOT of use in the real world uses this to forget about our problems or numb out. Same thing w food, drugs, & alcohol. People are also addicted to process addictions (gambling, gaming). And last but not least just emotionally numbing out, which is an internal mechanism that doesn't involve an external substance. So, while it isn't a solution, as this story made it out to be, a LOT of ppl uses this as a coping mechanism or a substitute for anything IRL. I'm not referring to you but to a response about how yaoi makes everything about sex. But that's what yaoi is. It takes real world events and applies it in a liberal way. If these things could cure ppl IRL, now that's a miracle. Btw, I'm not responding to you, just to the person who responded to your post. People do this even without that psychiatrist treating his patients using that method. Sure, it can be seen as an abuse of authority, but in the end he did it for the good of his patient. Didn't take advantage of him nor tied him down and tricked him into having a relationship with him that is not of his own will.

Woojin… He’s—I actually relate to him. I understand what he’s been through, though not as extreme. That’s what years of trauma, manipulation, and abuse would do to you. Now, I’m not saying this to absolve him of his wrong doings nor do I tolerate his actions. But what I’m getting at is, I understand. His character is complex, it’s imperfect, it’s flawed. It’s real.
I know exactly the dread of being alone, and settling for something that you know would hurt you and step on your pride, I was once desperate enough to beg for love like that. So much so that just like Woojin, I would be okay for my partner to be with someone else just so they would keep me by my side. And back then I thought that was okay, I thought it was normal. And I know that’s what Woojin felt.
I liked how they didn’t force everything all at once. They were all flawed, they all made mistakes, they were all wounded. But wounds, they heal, time heals. One step at a time, you’d eventually be okay. But like any other wounds, sometimes it’ll leave a scar, a permanent reminder of what you once were. And sometimes it’ll hurt once more, and you’d cry and be sad. But that’s okay, because that’s what makes you human.
If you’re reading this, and you’re thinking of dropping this, or maybe you already did. May I please ask you to rethink that decision and power through until the end? Maybe you’ll grow to like it. But if not, then that’s okay too. This type of genre isn’t for everyone after all.
Anyway, all I’m saying is, I love Woojin’s character. I wish I could just give him the biggest hug, and tell him he’s enough, that he matters, and that he’s not worthless. Because I feel like if I did, I’d also come to terms with my past and give myself a pat on the back for surviving all that and still have the strength to be here. And I wish that for you as well, if you’re going through something, just rant away, you can do it here, on reddit, tumblr, on your notes app, if you have a friend you can talk to that’s even better. But let it out. Let it all out. It helps. You are enough.

Yeah one of the things that I liked about this story how no one was correct, and at some point every character made a mistake.
