i lowkirkuinely didn't understand chapter 37. how did cheol end up in the hospital? was it after his dad beat him up again or did they go back to the present and something happened or wat?
Cheol ended up in the hospital because of his father throwing that cup at him. I'm not sure who took him there probably minyoung and his uncle but basically it's just the father being ur typical abuser and not letting him study abroad knowing that he's more capable which ended up in a fight minyoung finally catching up on his deep regret/ failure by not being able to protect him. Which is why he lost composure like that
The time thing I think it's because he's been sleeping for so long now in present time considering chapter 20 is where the flashback begins once he fell asleep so I'm pretty sure we are in the past still we just get to see the future them for that short second

i think his dad beat him up again. it's def in the past since he has dark hair and his present injury is only a cut on the cheek. it seems that after he got into the first fight with his dad, he went to minyoung's house and patched up his head injury and was ok for the most part.
from here it's more of my personal speculation, but based on the convo between minyoung and his uncle - i think seeing cheol hurt by his dad again really set minyoung off and he decided to take some kind of "revenge" that possibly ties into cheol's forceful coming out. and the combination between that and refusing to let his brother study abroad results in cheol's dad actually putting him in the hospital.
i could be wrong, but i believe the hospital is a separate incident we have yet to see at least
