i recommend: there's something wrong with the chief/ governor's illness. not unrequited love, but there is so much angst that happens later on i nearly died reading it. i actually never finished reading it lol and im too scared to reread to actually finish it
i forgot to say it's a danmei. i think there's a manhua too, i've never read it though
