"dark skin" in asia and the west are different. In the west you have a wide range of colors while in Asia it's much more homogenous so our understanding/standards for dark skin are different

This kinda was on me cuz I always know how these stories go. I'm just so tired of summaries that might imply an MC that will run away or just actually leave this toxic situation they were in the first place, but then completely switch and do the opposite (I was hoping it would be different, but then his dad gives him the book)
