Someone said they were upset with Hangyeol not being a better friend to Woojin and turning him away when he needed help when we later find out that Hangyeol‘s dad had cancer. Like I get Woojin was going through a tough time but Hangyeol taking care of his sick father comes first; and imagine the stress Hangyeol would be under if he did agree to take Woojin in. Now he’d have to deal with college, his sick dad (medical treatments, hospital visits etc), and his best friends problems, Hangyeol would probably crash out on Woojin.

It's a probability, even if you know many strong head people having childhood shittier than Woojin, not everyone will make the same decision as him but that doesn't mean there's isn't someone who will do the same. If you were raised like Woojin, live like Woojin, experienced everything Woojin had experienced, it's hard to say that you wouldn't make the same decisions, because at that point, your belief, values, and environment that made and shaped who you are, are exactly like Woojin's, by that point, you're literally Woojin in a sense. I'm not here to argue but let's not forget the possibilities of such.
