I get the title now. At first I thought it was just because of Woojin’s miserable, toxic relationship with Minho, but now it’s sinking in that no matter who he is with and how loving and healthy the relationship is, he will always be miserable because he can’t escape the trauma that he’s been through since birth, and it will always seep into every relationship and cause him to self-sabotage. It’s sad and depressing but really realistic, and I just hope he can move forward regardless of who he’s with at the end of this.
Also y’all can stop with the same spoilers over and over we get it damn!! That’s all any of these comments are now, and it’s frustrating when I want to see people discussing the actual current chapter but instead it’s just the same untranslated spoiler that’s been posted for months -_-. I dont even care anymore atp!!
I love this manhwa so much, I love that Yoogun is such a complex MC with his own motivations, I love that even in a story with so many characters, every one of them is written with nuance and they all have their own goals and complicated backstories !!
It takes everything in me to not read ahead in the novel because I really enjoy this art but gah!! (I have read the last couple side stories though and if you want something cute and silly to take your mind off… literally everything that just happened lol, I recommend reading *SPOILERS* the historical AU one with emperor Yoogun and his royal harem ^u^b)
There’s so much eye candy and choice man meat in this story (even portal guy is hot af), yet our MC’s endgame is with the asshole .
Oh well, the actual plot itself is super fun!! Happy it got an official translation. I want to read the novel eventually, since it seems like the kind of story that works better in prose. Also I desperately need to see more of Eunchong and the other hottie vassals <3
With every new chapter I cant help but think “…wasn’t this a story about a man leaving the mafia?”
Don’t get me wrong, these side characters are well written with a surprising amount of depth and nuance, and I’m also especially thankful for how this author writes women when most BL makes them flat, witchy characters that are only seen as obstacles. And if from the start, we were told this would be a collection of stories about the men at this strip club, I’d be fine with all this.
My issue is that we spent the entire first season following Junghae and his involvement with his criminal family, and that getting him and his brother as far away from that life as possible was extremely high stakes and time sensitive. Now it feels like that entire plot came to a screeching halt, and it doesn’t seem like we’re going back to that anytime soon.
Again, if this was advertised from the beginning as a look into all these characters lives and how they connect, this would make sense. But I have no connection with these characters (the country boy was only very recently introduced??), so even though they have interesting stories, I couldn’t care less because we weren’t spending any time with them during season one, and I just want to know what’s happening with our Actual main character. I’m happy for the people that are enjoying this still, but I have a theory that even the author doesn’t know where to go with the main plot line, and is stalling by fleshing out these background characters instead
stressing me OUT. WDYM HES FORCING IT YOUR NUT IS LITERALLY LEAKING OUT HIS ASS
