This 100% isn’t going to be a poly ending, I just can’t see the author going that way. Do I wish for it? Especially after all those Shuusuke-Hokuto mutual respect type scenes? Absolutely… they both cover what the other “lack” and have so much to learn from each other, and their chemistry even without Minami is just off the charts. If the author did want them to be poly, I can see so much potential if they dug deeper into that dynamic.
But alas it probably won’t be. So I’m rooting for Hokuto because that route is better thematically, better for Minami (it feels like the whole story is leaning toward Minami rediscovering himself and who he is outside his childhood crush, especially since we just saw him find a new love for baseball), and also he’s just so lovable.
