Even though I do like mc and ml (well tbh only lead) I am kind of bored now, and I don’t know if anyone will agree with me, I think I’m just making this comment out of curiosity or if my mindset sucks. But tbh I was kind of hoping for more time with the second lead and mc. I respect and actually appreciate that they didn’t waste time igs which is very counterintuitive based on the fact that I just said I wanted the mc and second lead to have spent more time together (I guess what I mean is I appreciate the awareness and respect the author has given the second lead to not be lead on and in my selfish ways I wanted more from that ship). I find myself biting my tongue bc the main lead really isn’t that bad compared to other stories or stories with the love triangle trope (which again this story has minimal of, so I don’t even know if I should be so annoyed about the fact that the second lead got crumbs, which in this case I’m trying to figure out if I love or hate, just bcs I’m bored now which again I know is selfish ). I also find myself being annoyed at the fact that it’s always the same thing within the “love triangle” trope where ml doesn’t know if he likes mc because of their fragile masculinity and pride, until they see mc with another interest, it’s so redundant and gross, and it just makes you a pos. Honestly tho this story does actually make the ml a beige flag rather a red flag bc atleast he isn’t a pos 100% of the time but I am sad for second lead, I’m always annoyed they make the second lead the on paper better person (nice guys always finish last trope, again redundant and gross) and the nicer/more respectful one out of the two because it pushes harmful stereotypes of what love should be and yes everyone loves the chase and the angst don’t get me wrong I appreciate tf out of that shit, but at a point I really wonder how tropes like this influences mindsets of people who really think this is what love should be like. Anyways hopefully this wasn’t a nothing burger and some people get it. Others may not, I understand. Maybe I’m just in love with the second lead and that is okay.
