It's currently not possible to create an account, and it hasn't been for a long time, because users were taking advantage of the translators' work and posting the scans on other sites. A while back, Raff held a contest of sorts where she (Raff, the creator, is a she, not a he) allowed people to email her in response to certain questions that she posted, and the "winners" received account access. However, I've not heard of people just emailing her to ask for it.
Well I do really did only email, ( I'm not sure He or She ) and now I can access otakumole. I never follow any contest he/she held. He/She really allows me to access otakumole. So maybe I'm consider lucky one.

Yes I am, I mailed her almost 3 years ago. I asked what should I do to get an invitation, and she only asked what shoujo manga I read, and I answer honestly I want to read Love so life manga, and she just give me an invitation link. I'm really grateful to her and I'm lucky I didn't have to do any contest. (≧∀≦)
