Does it state why Maxi's mum married the duke? I know the duke married her for the land (or something like that) because she was part of the Roem royal family (or something like that). But why did her family agree if the land would end up belonging to the duke? Also, I don't understand the concept of dowries. Why does a woman have to provide a dowry to get married?
