He's playing up as an idiot who only knows how to spend money bc he became rich overnight. It's a way for him to disguise himself without drawing the wrong type of negative attention. Remember, his house was slaughtered for plotting against the crown and making their heir the king. So, if he was shown to be too brilliant or too clever, that would raise his death flag real fast. It's best for people to think of him as an idiot. But the ML noticed his act at the last gathering bc of how the FL acts. So I think he's the only one who's caught on
