Why does Joshua want to kidnap Grayson again ..?
Chase still has issues. So he wants to give him the opportunity to get everything of his chest, without Grayson talking back. This is not about seriously hurting or killing Grayson.
The main problem since they were children was that Chase had communication problems with his family, they were unable to understand him. They tried, but failed. And Grayson's way of helping..... well, Chase wants him to understand that he had hurt him.
Seriously, that plan wouldn't have worked, in no way. But Josh is unknowingly playing cupid, which is far more effective for his goal of getting a serious apology for Chase.lol

Not to defend Grayson, but in the novel, the building was seriously on fire all over and they had to go several stairs up to get to the apartment where the dog was, and on their way, the stairs broke down and it was getting really dangerous. Dane still went searching for the dog opening all the doors of the apparent until George the dog owner said he was in the attic. When he opened the stairs, it was clear he would not be able to get down if he climbed them. So after ignoring Grayson's protests all along, he told him he should just get out since he wasn't helping. And so Grayson did, but he thought Dane would come out eventually, seeing it was pointless and not wanting to die. So when he got out of the building, he expected Dane to follow him soon after. When he didn't, that's when they all heard a big explosion coming from the house. So they all thought Dane died until he got out of the vent
These cliffhangers between chapters hurt do bad
