It's awful, I don't know why it has such a high rating, what a disappointment, especially since it's by the same author as Never Understand.
To be honest, I really don't like how the mc is going to the old man again and again like if you're gonna go to the old man stick with him. Like it pisses me off so bad, and the old guy isn't gonna be end game as well, ik im being delusional but imagine the ml finding out tht the mc is meeting the old guy, and starts pulling away. Tbh it'd be more interesting that way.
it's got a high rating because people will overlook shallow writing when there's nicely drawn smut, a.k.a. the appeal is all in the smut and character designs, even though there's actually a lot of potential for an interesting and solid plot.
I think the creator isn't very good at developing multiple characters. never understand has the same problem where conflicts get brought up but never really resolved in the sense that characters really work through them or even the narrative or author really recognizes/acknowledges the core of the issue. mostly, problems get resolved just because circumstances change (the plot demands it) rather than any real character development or self awareness or self reflection.
and that tendency is intensified and made more obvious in this series because of the nature and severity of its conflicts.

So meh! I'm used to this story making me angry. The guy literally only had to kneel once and he got his damn happy ending, And Dan was not only humiliated by the person he liked (I don't really know why, I guess it's Stockholm syndrome), suffered from depression, he was physically hurt, he almost died, his grandmother died, he really suffered to get a broken man as a reward, better nothing. Some will still think it was a good ending, I'll say it was meh.

Besides, why would they throw that piece of information at us just for the sake of it, Like when Grey answered the question about a political marriage between two male princes; it was mentioned on other occasions too, it seemed like something random but I don't think so!!Anyone who's already read the novel, please tell me if I'm wrong, waiting for unlock the chapter is driving me crazy.
