Go easy on doc Dan he isn't exactly In a position he can just leave. Since joo jaekyung pays for all his grandma's treatment and is in no position physically and mentally to just leave. He mistook Stockholm syndrome for love. But that love felt real to him so he is processing a broken heart. I hope doc Dan will leave with time but give him time to process everything. He doesn't depend on his rapist to make him happy. When he doesn't even know any happiness right now. If you see him looking happy right now that's just a mask. And I know what I'm talking about I use to be in a similar situation. It took 7yrs to officially get over it and feel real happiness. So give Dan a break!
I'm sorry that you experienced something similar and it took you 7 years to learn what happiness looked like for you, im glad you were able to get to a much safer position in your life a true testemant to your strength! From a purely writing narrative perspective my frustrations still stand as I think this author has been really dragging out this character arc and Dan has been stuck in this toxic cycle for such a long time and the plot isn't progressing, it's stuck in this loop of Being Abused and Aporasing to his Abuser. Ofc I know it would be a depressing read getting into it and I am just venting my frustrations at how pitiful Dan is. Yes his situation is horrible and his characterisation is realistic, no he is not to blame at all and he is the true victim, but it is still pitiful

Hey you're completely justified to disagree with me and my opinion isn't more worthy than yours and vice versa, we can disagree and still respect eachother one thing we have in common is we just want Dan to live a good life ASAP lol
Dan is so insecure and thinks so little of himself and has zero boundaries but seeks constant validation its so upsetting to read. Combined with jaekyun who has zero respect for weakness or vulnerability and needs to feel in control and powerful at all times. What a great fucking couple.
Firstly yes jaekung is an abusive bully etc etc don't get me wrong but dan does this constantly he thinks the only way he can express love or be appreciated is by feeling pain and forcing himself to endure hardship. That's how he showed love to his grandmother and he's doing it again now with his r*pist. Unfortunately he needs to really confront with the fact that he feels like he only gets appreciation or noticed by anyone if he is punishing himself. No i dont think he did anything to warrant abuse I'm just saying that he needs to stand up for his needs and learn what healthy and sustainable love looks like and pushing your health mental and physical to death is not it. Like he overworked and lost sleep and got hurt and skipped meals just to buy a key ring cuz that's all he knows how to do, to endure and endure and hope someone will notice.
