Cuz as far as I know, Taeui went with Xinlu because he has Jaeui as a hostage and threatened to drug Jaeui if he does not come with him. Not only that, he also said that he will be treated as a prisoner nothing less because he does not have the luxury to treat him like Rahman does.
Another thing, he did not say that he wanted to take Taeui's eyes, yes he did in fact tried to kill Ilay but from what I remember he did not try to hurt Taeui.
