What's with the significant drop in quality with both the writing and the portrayal of the art after season 1???? This is such an enjoyable manga because of how it tries to incorporate science with magic, oftentimes showcasing the limitations of magic with science. It felt like the whole first season was the build up of that foundation, and then once you get to season 2, the fight scenes become generic magic fight scenes with no consideration for spirit zones or laws of science. They kept on introducing magical concepts without justifying why it works that way. It feels like they just threw that whole foundation away when that's what made the manga so good. Everything feels so disconnected and emotionally distant now for some reason. I hope it comes back.

Thanks! Most of my stuff got snapped out of existence lol so it's mostly new stuff. It's a mix of 9.0+ mangas on demonic scans and mangas i randomly find with good world building.

It was this RPG fantasy adventure story where the first arc doesn't focus around leveling up and fighting monsters and collecting money but rather trading in the stock market. I know, very odd for an ROG but it is quite realistic. I forgot the reason why but I think he was planning to buy a mountain or sumn?
This had really good foundations, I particularly liked this because it highlighted a sort of grim realism with martial arts and the general system of "dungeons" and death that made it feel grounded. However, you could tell that the writers eventually started giving up, from the inconsistencies in the way the dungeon people are portrayed to shelved storylines and rewrites of their lore, the plotholes that were glaringly obvious. Once it reached the part where the rose king was portrayed comically, you could tell the Authors ran out of ideas and decided to pivot to comedy instead. By then it became your typical powerscaling chinese cultivation slop. Though, it does remain relatively interesting until ch. 300, though not as peak as it's first 50 or so chapters. After 300, while it is still digestable slop, the translation for each text bubble has become minimum 250 words so I just gave up reading this shit lol.
