What's with the significant drop in quality with both the writing and the portrayal of the art after season 1???? This is such an enjoyable manga because of how it tries to incorporate science with magic, oftentimes showcasing the limitations of magic with science. It felt like the whole first season was the build up of that foundation, and then once you get to season 2, the fight scenes become generic magic fight scenes with no consideration for spirit zones or laws of science. They kept on introducing magical concepts without justifying why it works that way. It feels like they just threw that whole foundation away when that's what made the manga so good. Everything feels so disconnected and emotionally distant now for some reason. I hope it comes back.

Arguably the best arc in the whole novel, can't wait for more of Kalamaf. After this it's just a downward spiral, hope they change the plot huhu cuz i am not liking the novel rn.

Yeah you'd think that but it pretty much breaks up the whole plot line they set up from the start. Feels unnatural, like they did a whole 180 cuz they felt like it. It kinda lost its charm, made the world more... Artificial and boring, despite the world building actually being decent. Idk, you just have to read the novel to find out.
I get that so much !! You felt the exact same I did, I am trying to get used to it and forcing myself to like it but it just doesn’t give the og grand fantasy feel I really liked from this work at the beginning. It’s a shame.

Reread this since I saw the drama trailer. Hope they make the ending different. Personally think it was super rushed the way they ended it. Also wish the things that happened in the side story to be moved before the ending, even though it kinda makes no sense. I enjoyed the side stories more i cant lie.

I mean, it was lowkey obvious that the author didn't know what to do with the plot lines and were severely overcutting the power scaling and the plot progression, but really??? To end on that note?? So many plot lines wasted, so many possible stories to expand on in the world. Could've went the develop the town direction, or explore the new continent direction. So manyyy

If they actually fixed the plot holes and had consistent power scaling and writing, this would easily reach a 9.6. not to mention the different authorities and entities not aligning well with their constellations, and whats with the random game systems mixed in. Everything after the first 50 chapters feels like an afterthought that somehow happened to mix in well enough to be enjoyable.
The story in itself has a good foundation and a great premise, but the worldbuilding and writing really failed to keep up. Still decent enough though if you aren't too keen on the details and just enjoy a good read. (づ￣ ³￣)づ
Im at Ch.151 and Idk if the Author keeps forgetting details from 30 chapters back cuz why did Lord change appearance from a black fat like incarnation of gluttony to a ball of light. It was clear that "Demigod" was a singular entity but all of a sudden the author seems to have decided that it was a group of entities? What about the Illininum, was that not a necessary condition for Demigods to not be subjected to God's punishment, and that production was extremely limited and majority of the products fell to Frey's hands but somehow the Demigods are running around freely and in huge numbers too. Not to mention that Frey somehow needed to fight Eliah to become a 9 star but Frey was already a 9 star before in his past life so he should have already known how to become one. The way they scrapped the whole Eliah being the last hope so fast and added in Paragon which was a group more secretive than the Trauman rings who somehow conveniently had the ArcLich which was not interested in outside manners and the 11th magic tower as members lmao. Idk what direction theyre going for atp
Got to like 191 and its even worse. Somehow Iris was actually the one who connected Lucas and Frey to free him but girl, in the earlier chapter she was shocked that Lucas was finally back. Make it make sense.

Im pretty she was shocked and happy that he was WELL and not dying yknow? it does make sense. she only gave lucas a chance to be freed from the abyss, she wasnt able to control what comes after that and she cant do anything reckless cuz the lord might notice her using his authority

This had really good foundations, I particularly liked this because it highlighted a sort of grim realism with martial arts and the general system of "dungeons" and death that made it feel grounded. However, you could tell that the writers eventually started giving up, from the inconsistencies in the way the dungeon people are portrayed to shelved storylines and rewrites of their lore, the plotholes that were glaringly obvious. Once it reached the part where the rose king was portrayed comically, you could tell the Authors ran out of ideas and decided to pivot to comedy instead. By then it became your typical powerscaling chinese cultivation slop. Though, it does remain relatively interesting until ch. 300, though not as peak as it's first 50 or so chapters. After 300, while it is still digestable slop, the translation for each text bubble has become minimum 250 words so I just gave up reading this shit lol.
