In this one, the fact that the dom left the sub when he was tied and gagged was actually discussed and the sub stated a boundary where either his mouth or hands would be free so he can use a signal in the place of a safe word. When that happened in BJ Alex, it was never discussed. Plus, I think MD was a really shitty Dom for conducting a scene right after he was rejected and letting the emotions from that rejection dictate how he treated his sub. Mix that in with Chanwoo actively seeking abusive partners, and coming to MD right after he was physically abused.... It was all just not what I would call a good Dom/sub relationship.
In this manga, the sub honestly sets the pace, they discuss the sex they have, they check in with each other. Even that scene where he ends up peeing, yes he was embarrassed post scene, but be knew he could have said his safe word and the Dom would have stopped. So, to me, this is a far healthier protrayal of bdsm.

I've always liked Harada because she always shows these relationships as toxic, even if there's a comedic undertone or there seems to be some "happy" resolution (color recipe and nii san for example). I think the "sweetest" one is Yatamomo, and even that deals with some extremely heavy and terrible themes. Her stories are not meant to romanticize rape or creepy relationships, rather they explore them and most have a open/ambiguous end.

yes! most of the asshole characters harada creates end up being shown as pathetic or delusional. most stories that deal with rape and other heavy themes often show the harrasser as a really cool, manly, desirable dude which is just.... nuh uh. but im glad harada does it differently.
